In the region

Where do I start? There are so many possibilities for day trips by car or motorcycle, including the Cévennes, the Cirque de Navacelle, the Gorges du Tarn, the Gorges de l'Ardèche or Mont Ventoux, the Alpilles and Les Baux de Provence, and of course the Camargue!

For those who love the seaside, the beaches of Palavas, la Grande-Motte or le Grau du Roi are only an hour away by autoroute. It takes about an hour and a quarter to reach the beaches of Sainte-Maries-de-la-Mer, the capital of the Camargue.

Would you like to visit caves? If so, you're in luck! Thanks to the geology of the area, there are caves to visit, including:

Grotte de Trabuc

Grotte de la Salamandre

Grotte de la Cocalière

Grotte de Rouville

Grotte des Demoiselles

There are also many tourist attractions in the cities and many events, such as

  • Nîmes Arena with the Nîmes Festival held there every June/July
  • Avignon with the Palais des Papes, the Pont Saint-Bénézet and the Avignon Festival every July
  • Orange with "Les Chorégies d'Orange" at the end of July / beginning of August
  • Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer with "le Pèlerinage Giton des Saintes-Maries" at the end of May
  • Les Baux de Provence with its "Carrières de Lumière" (Quarries of Light)
  • Anduze with "la Bambouseraie"
